ASVAB Study Planner

Split your weekly study time across the ASVAB subtests, weighted toward your weak areas.

You do not need to study every ASVAB subtest equally. Tell the planner how many hours you have and how confident you feel in each area, and it will split your week so the most time goes where it will help most.

ASVAB study planner

Rate how confident you feel in each subtest. The planner gives more time to weaker areas and extra weight to the four subtests that make up your AFQT score.

Why the AFQT subtests get extra time

Four subtests — Arithmetic Reasoning, Mathematics Knowledge, Word Knowledge and Paragraph Comprehension — combine to produce your AFQT score, which decides whether you can enlist at all. The other subtests feed the line scores that determine which ratings you qualify for. Our guide to the ASVAB for the Navy explains how the two fit together.

Getting the most from your study time

  • Study in short, regular sessions rather than one long weekend block.
  • Take a full timed practice test every couple of weeks, then re-rate your confidence and rebuild the plan.
  • Use official sample questions first: officialasvab.com.
