1.5-Mile Run Pace Calculator
Turn a goal time into the pace you need per mile, per lap and on a treadmill.
The 1.5-mile run rewards even pacing more than raw speed. Enter your goal time below and you will get the pace to hold for every lap, plus the treadmill speed that matches it.
Run pace calculator
Enter a distance and a goal time to see the pace you need to hold, lap by lap.
For planning only. This calculator does not score your time against Navy standards — use the current Physical Readiness Program guide for that.
How to use your splits
- On a 400 m track, 1.5 miles is just over six laps. Check your watch at the end of each lap against the “per 400 m lap” figure.
- Start at goal pace, not faster. Going out too hard in the first lap is the most common way to lose time over the last two.
- Train at more than one speed. Use the pace from this calculator for interval sessions, and run your easy days noticeably slower.
